GroceryEC.com, its first vertical industry business-to-business web-based e-commerce portal, is a web-based system for allowing manufacturers and brokers in the grocery industry to conduct electronic commerce with grocery retailers. GroceryEC.com allows its subscribers to send and receive electronic purchase orders, invoices, price changes, item information, promotional contracts, advance ship notices, and other documents via a web-based service.

In 2001, GroceryEC.com added support for 28 b2b retailer implementations including A&P, Sobey's, Dollar General, Food Lion, Giant Eagle, Hannaford Bros., H.E.B, Penn Traffic, Publix, Roundy's, Target (DSD), Tops, United Supermarkets, and Unified Western Grocers. With theadditional retailer support added in 2001, GroceryEC.com currently supports the b2b supply chain initiatives of 46 retailers, including Kroger, Albertson's, SUPERVALU, Safeway, Walgreens, and Winn-Dixie. During 2001, GroceryEC.com expanded its subscriber base 167% by adding 1,110 suppliers and brokers to the service bringing the total number of active subscribers to 1,773. These subscribers accounted for 3,480 unique trading partnerships. Over $713,000,000 worth of purchase orders were processed via GroceryEC.com in 2001 accounting for a 311% increase over 2000.
